In various towns of the Andean Cordillera of Peru the sisters serve the poorest through evangelization, basic nutrition, and the treatment of many sick people.
At almost 12,000 feet above sea level, a community of our Missionary Servants of the Poor Sisters works in this village helping about 140 children and a group of the elderly through a soup kitchen.
Here they care for children from the Saint Teresa Home in Cuzco who need a change of climate since Rumichaca is more temperate and warmer than Cuzco.
In this village, at almost 13,000 feet above sea level, the Sisters teach catechism daily, staff a community soup kitchen for poor children, visit the sick in their homes, and teach in various schools.
