Father Giovanni has always taught us that the people who work for us are collaborators in the work we carry out and that in a certain sense they are also missionaries. For this reason, he asked us to serve them as well, which is why we instituted three dates in the year on which we, the Priests and Brothers, serve them at table. Those dates are March 19, the Solemnity of Saint Joseph; the Most Holy Name of the Virgin; and before Christmas. At these events, they are given a present.

Saint Joseph, model of the worker and the family, constantly intercedes for our work. Once when the Movement was in great need, on March 19, Saint Joseph miraculously appeared with financial help to save us from the various calamities in which we found ourselves.

Since that day, Father Giovanni asked that we pay special veneration to the Holy Patriarch. In all our chapels you will find that his presence is central. In addition, Father Giovanni gave us a most beautiful prayer: “Saint Joseph, pray for us and provide for us.” We Missionary Servants of the Poor say this prayer three times a day to entrust our day to him and give thanks to the Holy Patriarch for all the benefits he grants us.

We encourage all of you to have great love and great veneration for this great Saint who was the father of Jesus, who loved Him and protected Him, and thus wants to love us and protect us in all our trials.
